006--Improve Your Interpersonal Communications Skills (You cannot not communicate)

This course begins with the presupposition that you cannot…not… communicate. You are always sending some sort of message, even when there are absolutely no words being said. Several studies on effective communication have revealed that 55% of all communication is nonverbal, 38% is from voice intonation or inflection, and only 7% is from the actual words that you use. The old adage “It’s not what you say, but how you say it” is not only true; it is essential if you are to have operative and useful communication. A lack of communication is one of the most pervasive problems facing American businesses and families today. It is not a problem that occurs just between couples. It is also a problem that occurs between parents and teens, parents and grandparents, teachers and students, as well as bosses and employees…the list goes on. The skills taught during this seminar can be used in all these situations to improve attendees’ communication effectiveness. Participants will learn:

  • Effective listening skills and rapport building techniques
  • The power of mirroring, matching and leading
  • The importance of giving and receiving clear, concise directions
